Director Search (June 2019)

Are you a choir director looking for a queer space? Interested in showcasing the queer music of the choir world? Quorum Boston is an LGBTQIA+ vocal ensemble in Boston, dedicated to performing music by queer composers. We’ve performed music by Hildegard von Bingen, George Frideric Handel, Benjamin Britten, John Cage, Samuel Barber, Francis Poulenc, Ned Rorem, Meredith Monk, inti figgis-vizueta, and various local living queer composers, including members from the group.

We are currently looking for a new music director to begin in the Fall 2019 season. We’re looking for someone who is passionate about our mission of bringing queer music to the world and providing a space for queer musicians.

The choir meets Monday nights 7:30-9:30pm and rehearses year-round. Board meetings happen on the second Monday of the month at 7pm before rehearsal. Our rehearsal and performance locations are always wheelchair accessible. We are committed to accessibility as an ensemble and will work with candidates to ensure disability-related needs are met.

Disabled people, nonbinary and transgender people, People of Color, undocumented people, formerly incarcerated and/or otherwise marginalized people are encouraged to apply. If you are excited about this role, but are unsure if you meet one or more of the requirements, we encourage you to inquire and/or apply.
